In Australia, Geely has recently announced that it will introduce the EX2 EV in the second half of 2026. According to news outlets in Australia, this move will be the first time Geely enters the compact city-car segment in the country.

Like the much larger EX5, the EX2 is built on Geely’s Global Intelligent Electric Architecture (GEA). At 4,135 mm long, 1,805 mm wide, and 1,570 mm long, and with a wheelbase that’s 2,650 mm long, the EX2 sits among the company of other compact city EVs like the BYD Dolphin, and the GWM Ora 3 or Good Cat, as it’s known overseas.

In China, where it is sold as the Xingyuan, or “Star Wish,” the EX2 has emerged as a runaway success. The model topped the country’s sales charts across all vehicle categories in 2025, racking up over 400,000 units in its first year alone, with 50,000 sold in September.

Now, in terms of specs, Geely hasn’t released the EX2’s specifications for Australia, but examples from global markets point to an 85kW electric motor, allowing the vehicle to sprint from zero to 50km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Power comes from a 40.16kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by CATL.

While official local range figures have yet to be confirmed, the EX2 carries a claimed NEDC range of 395 km. The platform also supports DC fast charging at speeds of up to 70kW, with the manufacturer stating that a 30 to 80 percent recharge can be completed in approximately 21 minutes.

With the EX5 already available in the Philippines, there’s a strong possibility that the EX2 could follow. While nothing has been confirmed yet, Geely’s recent resurgence and refreshed lineup give reason to be optimistic that the EX2 may join the brand’s local offerings.
