It's all green and go for the 2016 season of the country's premier grassroots motorsports event – GT Radial FlatOut Race Series (FORS). This time they'll be under the watchful eye of the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP).
The 2016 calendar has a total of 8 rounds, each with a Time Trial event and a Grid race. The location will take place in Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) and in Clark International Speedway (CIS).
FORS separated will separate the participants according to their skill level to even out the playing field. This is to give everyone a competitive, enjoyable racing experience for all.
There are several rule changes made to help raise driver skill and on-track action.
The Grids A, B, and C, which contains the fastest drivers, will now be dedicated competitive brackets and require all racers to to apply for a Clubman license. Grid E was also added to accommodate more drivers.
Lastly, the new Club Class is open to various car clubs or racers that would like to go all out in the newly formed 1-lap battle - The Perfect Lap.
2016 is all about leveling up to a whole new improved standard with the help of AAP and FIA. Not only does this give our regular drivers the opportunity to vie for a national award during the annual AAP Awards Night, but also helps us organizers and race officials enhance our kills and knowledge,” said FORS co-founder Edward Dela Rosa.
Entry fee is for the Time Trial, Grid Race, and Clubman is P3,500 per class, inclusive of timing and driver insurance. Package discounts apply if a participant decides to join more than one class.
