The 2018 New York International Motor Show is just a few days away as of this writing, and Toyota has hatched a new reveal to satisfy hatch lovers everywhere, literally. In an egg being transported and prepared for the said auto show is the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback.

Full details are scarce at this point, but we can expect a new 2.0-liter mill mated to either a CVT automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. Horsepower and torque figures are undisclosed at this point. Featuring Toyota’s New Global Architecture platform with suspension tuning on the sporty side, the 2019 Corolla Hatchback is available in two trims - SE or XSE.

Both variants get snazzy LED lighting, a huge trapezoidal grille, and chromed rear diffusers. XSE trim models have additional features like fog lights, a chrome front grille surround, and 18-inch wheels instead of the 16-inchers on the SE.
On the inside, the SE trim gets a leather shift knob, electronic parking brake, and USB outlets. The XSE has these also, with the addition of heated front seats, power adjustable driver’s seat, and a leather and fabric trim. An 8-inch screen with Apple Car Play is standard, leaving out the Andriod Auto version for some reason. Interesting.

No news on the arrival of this good looking hatch in the Philippines, but you can be sure that we’ll keep you posted if we catch whiff of any information. The 2019 Corolla Hatchback goes on sale in the US in summer of 2018.
