The 2016 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is about to open its doors this April ushering in new car models, innovative technology, and other special events in the automotive industry. Here's what you could see during the week's spectacle.
New Car Models
The MIAS is usually a place where brands debut their much awaited vehicles. This year is no exception with brands like Chevrolet, Peugeot, Jaguar, Kia, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Subaru, and Tata all set to unveil their respective cars.
To give you a sneak peek of what's to come, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) will make its public debut of the all-new Montero Sport while Jaguar Philippines, Inc. will showcase their new premium midsize sedan, the XE.
The Covenant Car Company Inc (TCCCI), the exclusive distributor of Chevrolet in the Philippines, is unveiling an all-new subcompact sedan called Sail. It has made its debut in other asian countries but and we're thrilled to know what it can offer to the local market.
The exclusive distributor of Kia in the Philippines, Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC), will also publicly debut the all-new Sportage, which they recently launched in a separate event. Tata will not be left behind as they will showcase the Super Ace, while Hyundai will debut its trucks and other commercial vehicles, along with the all-new Elantra. Finally, Peugeot will also display the 308 GTI.
New Brand
A familiar name has made its way back to the Philippines, the Korean marque Ssangyong. They will be under its new distributor Ssangyong Berjaya Motor Philippines Inc. (SBMP). Their new breed of cars will surely shake the already hot competition between brands.
Special Events
To highlight their brands and entertain the crowd, Ford will have a special outdoor display of their cars instead of the conventional indoor showcase under the roof. Visitors will also get the chance to drive cars from the premium brand Maserati. American brand Jeep is celebrating their 60th anniversary so be sure to check out their booth as well.
Be sure to drop by as the 2016 MIAS is a great event to spend time with your family and friends while getting to know the local automotive scene. It will be held at the World Trade Center and the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City from April 7 to 10, 2016. See you there!
