In any motorsport, the helmet isn’t just safety device; it’s usually the driver’s insignia separating him (or her) from the rest of the field. As such, Formula 1 (F1) driver Valtteri Bottas is giving fans the chance to design his own helmet.
All you have to do is sign-up as an official fan of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, download the template, and start designing. Save the artwork as a PDF file no bigger than 20 MB. Interested fans have until January 12, 2018 to send in their entries to VB77Helmet@mercedesamgf1.com.
Bottas himself will handpick the winning entry and use it as his primary helmet design for the 2018 Formula 1 season. In addition, the winner will receive a signed replica of the helmet.
During the 2017 F1 season, Bottas stood on the podium several times and even won in 3 Grand Prix - Russia, Austria, and Abu Dhabi. He managed to finish 3rd in the Driver’s Championship, just 12 points behind Scuderia-Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.
