Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) just announced that it will be fielding a new option for consumers who want a color that is exclusive to the Civic RS Turbo. The new color will replace the prior exclusive, Rallye Red, in favor of Ignite Red Metallic.
The new Ignite Red Metallic, as compared to Rallye Red, is a darker hue that is an aggressive yet sophisticated look for the Civic. The RS Turbo is still offered in four colors which include Ignite Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Cosmic Blue Metallic, and Modern Steel Metallic.
The turbocharged compact has long had the bright Rallye Red paint job in the lineup since the model’s launch back in 2016. The long-time exclusive was a staple for consumers who wanted a car that is distinctly an RS variant. Prior to this change in color offerings, HCPI also dropped White Orchid Pearl from the RS Turbo options, instead opting for a new shade called White Platinum Pearl, which went for a P20,000 premium over other Civic color options.
The 2020 Honda Civic RS Turbo is still available across HCPI’s 38 dealerships. There will be no price increase with the addition of this new color, and the car still goes for P1,608,000. You get all the same features such as the 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the full-leather interior trim with red stitching, as well as the 1.5-liter turbocharged motor mated to an Earth Dreams CVT with paddle shifters.
With red being an undoubted hero color for the RS Turbo, seeing as the RS badge is in red as well, the new hue might entice buyers who have had prior reservations of the intensity of the prior shade of red. A darker hue with more metallic elements can be found in the Ignite Red Metallic rather than the Rallye Red, which is flatter.
