Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), the exclusive distributor of Honda vehicles here in the country has announced the nationwide availability of the Honda City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition with an SRP of P819,000.
HCPI claims that this new addition to the City’s nameplate boasts special features that are exclusively offered to the Philippine market. They supported this with a recent consumer study conducted together with a team of engineers from Honda Japan.
Focusing on the most common preferences of Filipino car buyers, they found out that most tend to look for vehicles that offer the best in terms of child safety and occupant protection against excess heat and airborne diseases.
From these findings, they fitted this special edition Honda City with goodies that center on health, wellness, and safety. Among the car’s unique features are windows that were made using UV Cut Glass. This type of glass is specially-coated to absorb more of the sun’s harmful UV, infrared lights, and intense heat.
When it comes to safety, the Honda City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition comes an Auto Door Lock system that activates upon reaching 15 kph. It then unlocks the doors when it senses the vehicle has been shifted into Park. Moreover, the car is also equipped with a key fob-activated panic button. When in distress, long-pressing the said button will engage the car horn and headlights to call attention.
Honda also looked into matching these new features with a styling upgrade. Along with the colors Gold Brown Metallic and Taffeta White, they’ll also offer the exclusive all-new version of the Ruby Red Pearl.
Under the hood resides a Euro 4 compliant Honda Earth Dreams 1.5L inline 4-cylinder i-VTEC gasoline engine which also features the Eco Assist System with ECON mode. It is then mated to a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT).
As the car rolls into availability, HCPI will throw in a free Sharp Plasmacluster Air Purifier with Ion Technology for every unit purchased. This reduces airborne allergens and microbes through increased number of positive and negative ions. This also helps to remove unwanted odors and moisturizes the skin when used regularly.
