Hyundai confirms future models, including new hybrids and EVs

At its recent Investor Day in New York, Hyundai Motor Company laid out its roadmap for the coming years, confirming new hybrids, EVs, pickups, and commercial vehicles.

The Palisade Hybrid has already debuted as the first model to feature Hyundai’s next-generation TMED-II hybrid system, which is expected to bring better performance and fuel efficiency, and it will also be rolled out to more models as Hyundai expands its hybrid lineup to over 18 by 2030. Genesis will likewise release its first hybrid models starting in 2026.

Hyundai also confirmed that it will launch its first mid-size pickup truck before 2030 in North America. With experience gained from the Santa Cruz, the new model is aimed at competing in one of the largest segments in the U.S. market.

For EVs, Hyundai laid out that Europe will get the IONIQ 3, India will receive its first EV made specifically for local drivers, and China will see the Elexio SUV and a C-segment electric sedan. These models will join the current IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and IONIQ 9, giving customers more choices across different markets.

In 2027, Hyundai will also launch Extended Range EVs (EREVs) with more than 960 km of range. Unlike the usual setups, Hyundai’s system will use in-house high-performance batteries to provide full EV power with smaller battery capacity, helping keep costs more manageable while removing range anxiety.

Hyundai’s high-performance N lineup will also grow to more than seven models by 2030, including the IONIQ 6 N. The brand also plans to expand its commercial vehicles in North America, adding electrified large vans to its current XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks and Hyundai Translead trailers.
