We finally have a launch date for Hyundai’s all-new IONIQ 6 N, and it looks like it's going to be a strong follow-up to the IONIQ 5 N. Hyundai has confirmed that the IONIQ 6 N, its second all-electric performance car, will be officially revealed this July. This launch follows the recent global debut of the updated IONIQ 6. What’s interesting is that the IONIQ 6 N might be showing up without the large rear spoiler that older models had.
Photos from Hyundai's latest teaser show that instead of a chunky rear wing, the new IONIQ 6 N uses a ducktail-style spoiler that melds into the body. It gives the back of the car a more streamlined shape while still helping with aerodynamics. The third brake light has also been moved higher, now shaped like a triangle and mounted at the top of the rear window.
The upcoming IONIQ 6 N is expected to be as powerful as the IONIQ 5 N, which already makes 641 hp and 740 Nm of torque. With a lower body and less weight, the sedan could even go faster. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h may take just over three seconds perfect for those who want an EV that’s built for speed.
The IONIQ 6 N is also likely to use Hyundai’s 84-kWh battery pack. It won’t have the same range as the regular IONIQ 6 due to the higher performance setup, but it might still do better than the IONIQ 5 N because of its sleeker shape and significantly lighter body.
Price-wise, it could land slightly below the IONIQ 5 N’s P4.2M price tag. That means a starting price of around roughly P3.7 million if it ever launches in the Philippines. Hyundai hasn’t confirmed if the IONIQ 6 N is coming here, but with the IONIQ 5 N already on sale, there’s always hope. Until then, check out the rest of Hyundai’s lineup at AutoDeal.com.ph.
