Hyundai lands three spots on Kelley Blue Book's 2026 best family cars rankings

Hyundai is once again proving it knows what families actually need from a vehicle. The automaker just picked up three nods on Kelley Blue Book's 2026 Best Family Cars list, with the Palisade, Santa Fe, and IONIQ 5 all making the cut. That's a quarter of the entire list claimed by a single brand, which says a lot about where Hyundai's lineup is headed.

The Kelly Blue Book's family car rankings aren't just a popularity contest. The list weighs things like safety performance, long-term reliability, fuel and energy efficiency, and overall value, the stuff that actually matters once you're hauling kids, gear, and groceries on a regular basis. Landing three vehicles on that list means Hyundai is hitting those marks across very different types of vehicles, from a gas-powered three-row SUV to a fully electric crossover. The 2026 Palisade and 2026 Santa Fe both earned their spots in the 3-row Midsize SUV category, while the 2026 IONIQ 5 took the honor in the Compact SUV segment.

What's notable here is that these three SUVs don't really compete with each other, they cover different needs entirely. The Palisade leans into sheer interior volume, with a three-row cabin and storage solutions clearly built with school runs and weekend trips in mind. The Santa Fe takes a more flexible approach, with a layout that shifts easily between passenger-hauling mode and cargo-hauling mode depending on what the day calls for.

Then there's the IONIQ 5, which brings a completely different vibe to the family SUV conversation. Its cabin feels more open and lounge-like than a typical compact SUV, and the tech integration is built to take some of the friction out of daily driving, especially for parents managing a lot at once.

Taken together, the three models show a brand that's thinking about family transportation from multiple angles rather than a single formula. Whether it's a longer road trip or just the daily grind of school drop-offs and errands, Hyundai's approach seems to be less about flash and more about making everyday life a little smoother for the people behind the wheel.
