Hyundai Motor Group, comprising Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation, has made a joint announcement about the extension of its long-standing partnerships with FIFA until 2030. This renewed agreement also includes Group subsidiaries, Boston Dynamics and Supernal, as part of the collaboration. This means that the two Korean automotive brands will assume the role of the official mobility partner for the football organization, offering transportation services, autonomous driving technologies, and future mobility solutions throughout various global events and tournaments. For over twenty years, Hyundai and Kia have been steadfast supporters of FIFA, this time, however, there will be a lot more emphasis on the women’s game.
The extended partnerships will cover an array of FIFA competitions, including the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 and FIFA World Cup 2026 among other events. In celebration of this significant milestone, FIFA and Hyundai Motor Group conducted a signing ceremony at its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Hyundai Motor Group President Karl Kim joined hands to solidify the agreement formally.
“We are thrilled to continue our longstanding partnerships with Hyundai and Kia. Over the years, they have consistently demonstrated their commitment to supporting FIFA, and we value their dedication to enhancing the overall experience of our tournaments. As we enter this new era together, we are excited about the prospects that lie ahead with the addition of Boston Dynamics and Supernal. Together, we will continue to work on uniting the world through football.”
Karl Kim, President of Hyundai Motor Group, conveyed the group's pride in extending its partnerships with FIFA, emphasizing the group’s enduring dedication to the world of football, further adding, “As we embark on this renewed collaboration, we look forward to showcasing the capabilities of our mobility solutions and partner brands on a global scale. Together with FIFA, we aim to inspire and unite fans around the world through the power of football.”
As FIFA's official mobility partners, Hyundai and Kia will maintain pivotal roles in guaranteeing seamless and efficient transportation operations during FIFA's global events and competitions. Through its extensive worldwide distribution networks, the automakers will offer comprehensive vehicle lineups that meet all of FIFA's transportation needs, facilitating the smooth movement of teams, officials, and staff members.
