Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) recently unveiled its project with SM. Both companies are working together to make EV charging possible in multiple areas that have SM Malls.
Earlier, the South Korean car manufacturer launched one of its EV charging stations at the SM Mall of Asia’s North Parking Building on the third floor, however, the start of this station’s operation will start later this month, August 17, 2023. However, HMPH together with SM plans to install and activate more charging stations for mall-goers to use and not just for the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 models, but all EVs.
“Our global vision is based on the belief that we, as an automaker, have to be more proactive when responding to climate change compared to companies in other industries. So Hyundai Motor Philippines is very fortunate to be aligned with a company whose approach to sustainability is as holistic as ours. We are glad that we get to contribute to one of the four main pillars of their green movement which is energy. A key component to supporting society’s adoption of cleaner mobility solutions is through public awareness. And we are one with the SM group on their mission to assure customers, who are looking to transition to an electrified lifestyle, wider access to charging facilities outside of their homes.”
As for the start operation dates and the operating hours of these charging stations, Hyundai has sent out a schedule:
