In line with government’s infrastructure program ‘Build, Build, Build’, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) is planning to expand its capacity and resources to contribute in boosting transportation and construction in 2018, particularly in Mindanao.
As of now, HARI has 4 dealerships in Mindanao – Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Davao and Zamboanga City. Based on regional growth statistics, Davao’s economic performance increased by 9.4% in 2016 due to its industry sector. With this, construction boosted 25.8% from 10.2% in the same year.
“Infrastructure helps in leveling the field for growth, allowing cities and provinces to maximize their full potential particularly for Mindanao. It’s encouraging not only for Hyundai, but for the rest of the business community to expand our presence in the country further.”

During the 2017 World Economic Forum Competitive Index, the country’s ranking is said to be dragged down due to the current weak state of infrastructure. Taking this into account, the government is expected to allocate P1-trillion for construction of main roads, bridges, seaports, and airports nationwide.
At this time, Hyundai is looking forward to its commercial division dealership facilities in 10 locations nationwide that is expected to be completed by the end of the 1st quarter of 2018. The said facilities are located in CALABARZON, Western Visayas, and Mindanao. Furthermore, the brand is also anticipating expansion in 20 more locations by 2020.
