Hyundai Cup 2026

Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) is using its role as title partner of the Hyundai Cup 2026 to support youth football development in the country, rolling out a series of grassroots activities alongside the regional tournament.

The local distributor began its initiatives with the turnover of football equipment to The Younghusband Football Academy, Imus Football Academy, and the De La Salle Zobel Football Team from July 4 to 15. The programs received footballs and ball carts intended to support their respective training and community activities. HMPH also opened dealer test drive opportunities for the Hyundai Creta and Stargazer, which serve as the tournament's hero models, running from July 15 to August 31.

The activities continued with the first Hyundai Cup 2026 Fun Day at Vermosa Sports Hub on July 18. Seventy-five young footballers from the partner camps took part in training sessions led by Philippine Youth National Team coaches, headed by Philippine Football Federation Head of Youth Development Coach Tetsuya Tsuchida. The participants also played friendly matches as part of the day's activities.

Held with BPI-MS, the event was designed to give young players a chance to develop their skills while promoting the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Twenty-two standout participants were later selected as Kids Escorts, giving them the opportunity to walk onto the field alongside the Philippine and Myanmar national teams during the Philippines' first Hyundai Cup 2026 home match at New Clark City Athletics Stadium on July 28.

For HMPH Managing Director Cecil Capacete, the program reflects Hyundai's broader focus on using sport to connect with local communities and provide opportunities for young Filipinos.

“Here at Hyundai, we believe that sports has the power to inspire, unite, and encourage growth among the youth. Through our local initiatives of the Hyundai Cup™ 2026, we want to make football as meaningful on Philippine grass as it is on a global stage.”

The Hyundai Cup 2026 is the 16th edition of the ASEAN Football Championship. Through its involvement in the tournament, HMPH is extending Hyundai's “Progress for Humanity” philosophy beyond mobility by supporting grassroots football and youth development in the Philippines.
