For us here in the Philippines, news that the Creta will be getting a facelift might come as a surprise to many of us because the Creta has only just arrived back in 2022. For other markets like China and India who got the Creta earlier, the subcompact crossover is nearly five years old, a good time for a refresh.
Hyundai Motor Philippines is currently busy with the launch of the fifth-generation Santa Fe, so the Creta’s Philippine debut is still on the horizon with no confirmation and launch date at the time of writing.
Over in India, Hyundai has started providing glimpses of the upcoming update with a set of official teaser videos and images, with a launch date set for January 16, 2024. The teasers reveal the thoroughly redesigned exterior and interior of the crossover. The enhanced front fascia now houses a larger redesigned grille, a new split quad-beam headlight setup, an extended LED daytime running light strip, and a thicker bumper. Moving to the rear, the 2024 Creta has a newly designed tailgate with integrated LED tail lights and a reshaped bumper.

Moving inside, the dashboard is where the upgrades are most apparent for the 2024 Creta. Embracing a fully digital approach, the crossover adopts a widescreen panel. Consequently, the dashboard undergoes reshaping, and the repositioning of air-conditioning vents reflects this significant update. Other changes include the addition of ventilated front seats, a dual-zone automatic air-conditioning system a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems as well as new door panels.

As for the mechanical stuff, the India-spec Creta will get three powertrain options. These include a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine, and a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. The available transmission choices include a six-speed manual, IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission), a seven-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), and a six-speed automatic transmission.

No exact information is available on the power these engines produce yet so we’ll have to wait for the official launch on January 16, 2024.
