Hyundai’s IONIQ sub-brand of electric vehicles is steadily expanding, and the latest segment it’s intending to fill is the hatchback territory, based on what Hyundai unveiled at the IAA 2025. What we’re referring to is the recently unveiled Hyundai IONIQ THREE Concept, and they say it’s a preview of what’s to come next year.
Based on the photos, the IONIQ THREE looks like a Veloster reimagined for a sci-fi universe. It features a long, swooping hood that flows into a sharply angled front windshield, seamlessly connecting to a low-slung roofline. Everywhere you look, the IONIQ THREE carries sharp cuts and bold angles—from the sculpted front fenders to the distinctive side windows. Pronounced wheel arches house oversized wheels with green accents, wrapped in low-profile tires for an aggressive stance. Up front and at the rear, Hyundai’s signature Parametric Pixel lighting makes an appearance, updated with a more expressive interpretation tailored to this concept.
Inside, the IONIQ THREE adopts a futuristic yet minimalist approach. The ultra-clean dashboard stretches horizontally, eliminating clutter while integrating advanced digital interfaces. Small modular screens sit atop the dash, delivering customizable information to both driver and passenger. A squared-off steering wheel incorporates its own display, merging familiar control with forward-looking design.
Despite its futuristic vibe, Hyundai stays true to its eco-conscious mission. Much of the cabin uses recycled and sustainable materials, reinforcing the brand’s vision for advanced mobility paired with environmental responsibility.
For now, Hyundai is only showing off the design. Powertrain details remain under wraps, but if the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 are any indication, this hatchback could pack a serious punch despite its compact form.
While we wait for more details about the IONIQ THREE, you can explore Hyundai’s full lineup on AutoDeal.com.ph, which includes performance models like the IONIQ 5 N and the Elantra N.
