Photos of what appears to be the facelifted 2021 Toyota Innova have leaked online. The images showcase the Japanese brand’s popular MPV sporting a new face along with a new set of wheels. While these images originally came from Indonesian sources, it's a good indicator that Toyota, at least for the ASEAN region, has plans to update the Innova.
The current Toyota Innova has been on sale in the automotive market since 2015 and is at the right age for a facelift. With these leaked images, we can see what the Japanese brand has done to update its popular MPV.
The facelifted Innova now comes with a bigger grille similar to that found on its IMV platform brother the Toyota Hilux. Thanks to the bigger grille, the front bumper has also been revised along with the addition of new fog light bezels. While still not yet confirmed, it also appears that the headlight housings have been updated, as the park lights may have been moved to the lower bumper. Aside from the changes to the front, the Innova will also now come with a new set of alloy wheels. The exact size of the wheels has yet to be determined however, we expect them to be 16 or 17s.

Under the hood, the Innova will still likely carry over the same figures it produces from its 2.8-liter motor. While it is true that it shares the same engine with the Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Hilux, and the Toyota Hiace, the tuning is different for the MPV. It is still expected to produce 171hp and 360 Nm of torque. The transmission options are also expected to be the same, coming with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
There is no official word yet as to when the facelifted Innova will be making its debut in Indonesia, however, we expect the MPV to make its official launch in the Philippines by the first quarter of 2021.
