Drivers got to experience dirt in the best way possible during the D-MAX off-road event in Zambales. Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently held the D-MAX Camp-Out on September 14-15, 2024, at Crystal Beach, Zambales. The event brought D-MAX customers and car club members together for two days of eco-driving and off-road activities, providing an opportunity to test the 2024 Isuzu D-MAX’s features in a real-world setting.
The event started at Isuzu Manila, where participants set out for a 160-kilometer drive to Petron Subic for a fuel check. After refueling, the group headed to Crystal Beach, where a lunch break awaited them before the off-road fun kicked off. The afternoon featured an "Overlanding 101" session led by Overland Kings, along with a demo by 4WD expert Beeboy Bargas, who showed off the D-MAX's new Differential Lock System and Rough Terrain Mode.
IPC President Tetsuya Fujita mentioned that these features provide more control in difficult terrain, improving the D-MAX’s off-road capabilities. The Differential Lock System guarantees equal power distribution to both rear wheels, improving traction on uneven surfaces, while the Rough Terrain Mode optimizes the truck’s handling in challenging conditions.
“This is an excellent hands-on experience for our customers to feel the significant difference between a standard 4x4 setup and the enhanced performance of the D-MAX’s Difflock and Rough Terrain Mode."
After the off-road event, a dinner program followed, where the winners of the eco-drive challenge were announced, with the top result being an impressive 18.70 km/l. Powered by the 4JJ3-TCX Blue Power engine, the 2024 Isuzu D-MAX offers 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque, balancing power with fuel efficiency. The event concluded with dinner and entertainment, bringing a successful weekend to a close.
