Isuzu Philippines renews partnership with JZGMSAT TESDA school

A renewed partnership sees new equipment for students, continuing Isuzu’s CSR efforts.

On August 8, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) and the Jacobo Z. Gonzales Memorial School of Arts & Trade (JZGMSAT) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA renewing its partnership for quality education and knowledge-sharing.

IPC President Tetsuya Fujita and IPC Executive Vice President Shojiro Sakoda, were both there to turn over two things to the TESDA CALABARZON Regional Director Baron Jose Lagran, and JZGMSAT Vocational School Administrator Benito Reyes, which includes a new four-post lifter with wheel aligner and an Isuzu D-MAX pickup truck.

“It’s been six years since we started this partnership, and the continuous collaboration between IPC and JZGMSAT says a lot about the importance and sustainability of this program. More than the equipment we provided, it’s the culture of knowledge sharing that’s more important, for us to be able to share with them our expertise on Diesel Engine Technology, so the trainees can have more advantage when they graduate.”

This corporate social responsibility effort was first started in 2017, when Isuzu previously donated desktop computers, mock-up diesel engines, and two automotive lifters. All of the equipment is still being used by the school by service mechanic trainees during practical classes.

IPC also includes specialized training programs that cover topics like diesel engine technology, common rail fuel system, and engine management systems. Isuzu is sharing its vast knowledge of diesel engine technology with the school as a part of its knowledge-sharing initiatives.

“We are very thankful to Isuzu Philippines for their continuous support to our vocational school. The equipment and technical training that they provide to us are all very beneficial in improving the competency of our trainees. This will truly help them in their practical classes and prepare them for real-world scenarios,” said Benito Reyes.

Over the years, IPC has conducted several CSR activities nationwide, but this one they say is close to their heart, “We truly believe in the power of education, this is something we can give to the younger generation and hope that it will be able to change their lives in the future,” Fujita added.
