It looks like MG is preparing a facelift for its second-generation MG6 sedan which is set to appear sometime in 2020. The brand originally launched in the Philippines automotive market back in 2018. Since then it has steadily been growing in popularity as more and more vehicles are being added to the local lineup.
The initial images of the facelift show that the MG6 will be receiving an angrier look at the front. The grille now comes with a honeycomb insert and with black molding around it. The headlights have also been redesigned looking closer to that of the refreshed 2020 MG ZS crossover that has yet to hit Philippines soil.
The front clip similar to that of the older model still retains the X-shaped bumper now with more prominent creases to help it achieve its more aggressive looks. Alongside the new bumper is a pair of new side intakes that come with thin LED fog lights. The lower bumper also appears to have been reworked also featuring the same honeycomb design as the large main grille. Moving on to the sides of the vehicle it looks like the MG6 will also be getting a new set of alloy wheels.

The rear of the vehicle also gets a few tweaks as it now features a redesigned tail light cluster as well as a refreshed bumper with a new black diffuser insert at the lower portion. The angular dual exhaust pipes have also been changed in favor of oval-shaped ones.
Engine options are still the same as the sedan still carries the familiar 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Power output, however, has been increased from 162hp to a rumored 178hp. There is no official word yet if the Covenant Car Company Inc. the exclusive distributor of MG in the Philippines will be bringing in the facelifted vehicle. There is also no word yet as to when MG plans to release the facelift to the world but expect it to happen within 2020.
