JAECOO J6 gains traction in the Philippine EV market

The automaker reports the J6 EV is receiving a growing number of reservations.

Electric mobility is picking up steam in the Philippines, and OMODA & JAECOO Philippines is betting big on the JAECOO J6 to keep that momentum going. According to JAECOO, its all-electric crossover SUV brings together sharp styling, a healthy dose of tech, and the kind of everyday usability that Filipino drivers actually need, whether they're crawling through EDSA traffic or heading out of town for the weekend.

Since it hit local showrooms, OMODA & JAECOO Philippines says reservations have been steadily climbing, a sign that more Filipino buyers are warming up to the J6 EV. A quick review of the J6’s specs and features reveals why.

Buyers have two variants of the J6 to choose from. The lineup starts with the RWD variant, which starts at P1,649,000 and puts out 184 hp with 220 Nm of torque. Step up to the AWD version at P1,799,000, and it’s powered by a dual-motor setup good for a combined 275 hp and 385 Nm of torque.

Both variants draw from a 69.77 kWh LFP battery pack, good for up to 421 km of range on the NEDC cycle. When it comes time to charge, DC fast charging gets the battery from 30 to 80 percent in around half an hour, which is fast enough that a coffee break should cover it.

As for tech features, the J6 sports a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen running the infotainment, a 9.2-inch digital gauge cluster, and wireless support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A Sony sound system handles the audio, while a 360-degree camera setup makes tight parking spots less stressful. Add in a panoramic sunroof, power seats, and a full ADAS suite covering adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, automatic emergency braking, and traffic jam assist, and the J6 has a feature set worthy of its price tag. Between its distinctive look, tech-heavy cabin, up to 421 km of range, and pricing that undercuts a lot of the competition, it's carving out a real case for itself in a market that's only getting more crowded.
