Jaguar Land Rover recently opened its 2-hectare mega facility located near the city of Coventry, England, United Kingdom. Housing the manufacturing, paint, technical and customer commissioning, the new innovative Technical Center will also serve as the headquarters of the brand’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).
Inspired by the standards of top level motorsport, the Technical Center will feature a series of highly advanced workstations and the most “extreme quality control procedures in the world.”
The SVO Technical Center is very modern facility, inspired by a Formula 1 engineering center. It covers 20,000 square meters including a manufacturing area, one of the world’s most eco-friendly and advanced paint shops, custom-built commissioning suite, technical suite, presentation suite and offices,” said John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations.
Soon, customers will be able to visit the Technical Center by invitation. Here, they’ll be able to customize their very own new Jaguar or Land Rover vehicle down to the color of any specific part.
Visitors will also be treated to a VIP gastronomic experience all thanks to Michelin-starred chef Graham Edwards. He will be creating and serving a selection of dishes designed to suit the client or the car they are buying.
After the client has left, the real work begins as the car goes through the 3 other areas of the building where it will be built, painted, and hand finished according to the customer’s preference.
