Jaguar Philippines Inc. added its first entry into the midsize luxury sedan segment, the Jaguar XE. This coincides with their 20th year in the Philippine motoring industry.
The celebration started with Mr. Wellington Soong, the President of Jaguar Philippines Inc., reminiscing how he started the company back in 1995. The nostalgic speech was backed up by memories instilled in photos shown through a slideshow.
Power of Agility in the Urban Jungle, the ownership of a Jaguar purrs with passion and excitement from the roots of its heritage when Sir William Lyons started in 1922 and still alive today with so much benefits from the advances of technology from the aluminum and magnesium metallurgy, suspension, and advanced electronics. This is the foundation of what a Jaguar is. said Mr. Soong
With advanced engineering and design, the Jaguar XE hits numerous milestones in their history of production. It's the first car in its segment in a monocoque framework with an aluminum density of 75%. It's also the first Jaguar developed through their new modular vehicular structure. As they claim it, it's also the most aerodynamic Jaguar sedan ever made.
A first for Jaguar and for the industry, the XE’s laser head-up display (HUD) projects high contrast colour images directly in the driver’s line of sight. It displays key information such as speed, turn-by-turn navigation instructions, traffic signs, and cruise control settings.
Although the XE has many trim levels, the launch featured the XE R-Sport. The interior of this particular kit has Luxtec sport seats fashioned with midnight blue technical mesh inserts and blue contrast stitching. The panels are accentuated with hand crafted gloss black leather, textured aluminum, contemporary wood veneer, and carbon-fiber trim. Meanwhile, the dashboard is topped off with an 8-inch LCD touchscreen monitor that can play AM/FM/CD/MP3 and has USB/Bluetooth/iPod/Aux connectivity through a Meridian 11-speaker system.
The Jaguar XE is available in 3 engine types: the 2.0 Petrol 200, 2.0 Petrol 240, and 3.0 Petrol 340. Both 2.0L engines are available for all XE variants except for the XE S which is powered by a 3.0L V6 Supercharged engine. All engine types are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift.
The price of the Jaguar XE is available upon request. For full specs and details, visit the AutoDeal Car Guide.
