Here’s another EV to keep your eye on. Kia Philippines, under ACMobility, previewed the all-new EV5 during the 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit. The event gave visitors a first look at the brand’s next electric model, which is expected to officially launch by early 2026. This move is part of Kia’s plan to expand its all-electric lineup and offer more options for different types of drivers.
The EV5 follows the design style of the EV9 but comes in a smaller package. It’s made for young families or drivers living in the city who want to switch to electric. The EV5 has a 214 hp electric motor and 310 Nm of torque, paired with an 88.1 kWh battery. On a full charge, it can run up to 550 kilometers. It also has a vehicle-to-load feature, which means it can power devices using energy from the car.
Inside, there’s space for five passengers, plus safety and convenience features like Kia’s DriveWise driver assist system and a once-a-year preventive maintenance schedule.
This preview follows Kia’s earlier EV launches: the EV6 and EV9. The EV9, in particular, earned over 48 global awards and was named 2024 World Car of the Year. Together, these models show Kia’s steady move toward electric driving in the Philippines.
Aside from its EV models, Kia is also working with ACMobility to improve the country’s charging network and make EV ownership easier for Filipinos.
The Kia EV5 preview was available at the Kia booth during the EV Summit from October 23 to 25, where guests could also test drive the EV6 and EV9. Final pricing and full specs for the EV5 will be revealed at its official launch in early 2026.
