Another green step forward from Kia as its Carnival has gone hybrid and was recently revealed in Indonesia. Kia has expanded its lineup by introducing the Carnival Hybrid at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show.

The hybrid model is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo gasolne engine combined with an electric motor, delivering a total of 242 hp and 367 Nm of torque. The engine setup is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels, improving fuel efficiency and providing a smoother driving experience.

Priced at approximately P5,007,685.49, the Carnival Hybrid is offered exclusively as a seven-seater.

It comes packed with different high-tech and comfort features, such as LED projector headlamps, a smart power tailgate, and two large 12.3-inch screens—one for the instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system equipped with a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

The vehicle also includes three-zone climate control, keyless entry, remote engine start, and a wireless charging pad for added convenience.

The Carnival Hybrid also includes several advanced driving aids to further improve safety, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking with junction assist, and blind-spot monitoring with collision-avoidance assist, helping to make the driving experience safer and more manageable.

In terms of design, the Carnival Hybrid adopts the latest visual trends from Kia, similar to those seen in the Sorento and EV9. It features new vertically-oriented LED headlamps and a redesigned grille, updating its overall appearance. The interior sees a modern touch with a new touch panel that integrates climate and media controls, modeled after the setup in the EV6.

Now that the Carnival Hybrid is out in Indonesia, we are all wondering if it'll hit the Philippine market next.As interest in hybrid cars keeps growing around here, it seems pretty likely that Kia Philippines could decide to offer this eco-friendly MPV locally. While we're waiting, you can check out the latest from Kia on AutoDeal and even get a quote for any model you like.
