Kia is committed to the march towards electrification, and it solidified that stance with the unveiling of performance versions of three of its EV models at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show. Specifically, the models that received the GT treatment were the EV3, EV4, and EV5, which were previously only available with single-motor versions.
The EV3 GT and EV4 GT produce a combined 282 hp, drawing power from between a 145kW front motor and a 70kW rear unit—paired with an 81.4kWh battery. Power is complemented by an electronically controlled suspension with GT-specific tuning, enhanced cornering stability, and 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in performance-focused tyres.
Stepping up the performance, the EV5 GT ups the output to 302 hp. It features a more powerful 225kW dual-motor AWD system, increased torque output, and a GT-specific chassis setup that includes an electronically controlled suspension with a road preview system, along with sporty Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.
"Our new electric Kia GT models prove that electrification can be emotional and resolute. The EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT will deliver an engaging, confidence-inspiring drive, combining the instant responsiveness of electric power with sporty character and all-purpose capability. These GTs are crafted for those who seek the best of both worlds: excitement while embracing a future of responsible mobility.”
According to Kia, the GT variants are engineered to blend emotional driving with advanced digital experiences. Beyond the added power, they feature a dedicated GT drive mode that brings together sharper power delivery, steering response, suspension behavior, and driver displays to create a more focused and immersive driving experience. Driver engagement is further elevated by Kia’s Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) and active sound design. VGS simulates tactile feedback under acceleration and deceleration, while the sound system adapts to speed and load to produce a dynamic digital soundtrack that heightens the sense of performance.
While these three EVs haven’t made their local debut yet, the Kia EV6 and EV9 are on sale here in the Philippines. Check them out on AutoDeal.com.ph.
