While we may be late, Mitsubishi Philippines is currently selling the Outlander PHEV and it is by far one of the few electrified vehicles in the local market today. On the other hand, the all-new model is slowly uncovering its looks, as showcased through these leaked images sourced from an Instagram account named allcarnews.
Reports say that the vehicle is staging up for a photoshoot and it was then shared with allcarnews. While the quality of those images may not be as crisp and clear as it should, the photos do reveal several details of the crossover and it may seem that the upcoming Outlander does go by the Engelberg Tourer Concept. Upfront, details such as the snub-nosed fascia and its headlight layout closely resemble the said concept. Even the side and rear shows familiar design cues.
Aside from its new design, it may also seem that the all-new Outlander features bigger dimensions than its predecessor. Therefore, a third-row seating setup may be possible on this upcoming model which should be suitable for some occasional use, as this model is not a fully-fledged 7-seater.
The Mitsubishi and Nissan alliance might also have significant attributes shared, specifically from the recently released Nissan Rogue or X-Trail. However, there is a possibility that Mitsubishi might be releasing a plug-in hybrid powertrain like the one found on its outgoing model.
While it may slowly be surfacing from previous spy shots and leaked images, reports also say that its full reveal is slated by 2022, which is still quite far away from now. At least we’re sure now that an all-new model is slated to be released soon. Now, hopefully, we’ll also get this one as well, but it might also take quite some time as we’ve only gotten its PHEV model earlier this year. Then again, stay tuned for more updates on this all-new Outlander.
