2027 Nissan Versa

The current generation of the Nissan Almera may look new, but it has been with us for five years since its launch in 2021. However, that’s just when the Almera was launched here in the Philippines; overseas, the Almera, or Versa as it's known in other markets, has been kicking it since 2019. The aging N18 generation’s successor might have a successor on the way, though, as leaked images of the Versa have surfaced.

Photos of an uncovered prototype version of the Versa have come up online, and it may be the production model of the next-generation Versa. From the looks of things, it isn’t some light refresh as well, front and back, the new Versa looks redesigned from the ground up.

Nissan Versa Leak 2

Up front, the new Versa adopts Nissan’s latest design language, a look we’ve already seen on models like the new X-Trail and the all-new LEAF. Unlike the outgoing model, it now features a split lighting setup, with slim daytime running lights positioned just below the hood, while the main headlights sit lower and flank the sides of the grille. These lighting elements are separated by a body-colored trim piece, with a contrasting black strip running between the DRLs and the Nissan badge prominently placed at the center.

Nissan Versa Leak Rear 3

Around the back, the new Versa or Almera receives a set of redesigned LED taillights, connected visually by a black trim piece that gives them a wraparound appearance. The trunk lid has also been reshaped to accommodate “Versa” lettering, with the license plate relocated lower on the rear bumper. Another subtle but interesting update can be found at the C-pillar, where a trim insert breaks up the body-colored roof arch, adding a bit more visual flair to the profile. While no interior photos have leaked so far, the extensive exterior redesign suggests we can expect a similarly comprehensive update inside the cabin.

Under the skin, the next-generation Almera or Versa is likely to remain based on Nissan’s V platform, albeit with further refinements and upgrades. The familiar 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine could also carry over from the current model. Some sources mention the possibility of electrification, so an e-POWER Almera isn’t out of the question.

While we wait for more updates on the upcoming Versa or Almera, be sure to check out the Nissan Car Guide on AutoDeal.com.ph to explore the full local Nissan lineup.
