The Toyota Corolla Cross might get a new face quite soon enough. The Philippines received the unit back in 2020, so it’s a bit early for the compact crossover to receive that kind of treatment for now for the local market, but the images make it look like an update will be ready and waiting soon enough.
In an image posted by @kurdistan_automotive_blc on Instagram, the new face of the Toyota Corolla Cross is in full view with a front face that looks like it’s madder than the current generation being sold in the Philippines and it sports a nose among all things.
It appears that this facelift will include the front bumper and a slightly revised rear bumper. The other design elements like the lights remain the same, and a new set of wheels have been installed for this update.
Looking closely, you may find that the images display a blued Toyota badge, indicating that it could have at least a hybrid powertrain, or it could be a Plug-in hybrid for all we know. Either way, the model pictured could have the same 1.8-liter inline-4 that powers our local units, and it produces 120 hp and 141 Nm of torque.
Could this leak mean that the model is going to get a facelift in the next few years? It could be that Toyota will keep this particular look exclusive to the Japanese market, but it’s not out of the question for the brand to send the production schematics overseas. It might be a while before we start seeing this face in other parts of the world, however.
