Lexus Philippines is all set to launch the 2021 IS before this year comes to an end. Its upcoming premiere is set to commence this coming November 21, 2020. This new model should further strengthen the brand’s local lineup, with it featuring enhanced aesthetics and a redone interior.
The sedan made its global debut five months ago, it may not be all-new but the sports sedan has made quite a departure from its predecessor all thanks to its significant makeover done inside and out, along with a revised chassis.
Covered by a dark background, the teaser photo flaunts the unified taillights of the sports sedan. Therefore giving us a closer glimpse of the upcoming model, as it showcases part of its sleek design appointments. Inspired by the brand’s design language as applied on the LM and UX.
Going under the knife also made the Lexus IS significantly larger than its predecessor. Numerically speaking, it now measures 4,710mm long, 1,840mm wide, and 1,435mm tall. While its wheelbase remains at 2,800mm.
While the shell carries noticeable changes, the interior, on the other hand, remains almost the same as before. Now, importantly, the IS now gets a new infotainment system, and it's now larger now, 8-inches to be exact. Notably, the new screen features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For that luxurious in-car entertainment experience, this new model could either come with a 15-speaker or 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system.
Lexus Philippines has yet to announce which variants will build the IS lineup. Apart from its V6 power plant which might be continually offered locally for this model, there may be a chance that the brand might launch the IS 300h Hybrid alongside with the IS 350, given that the 50% tax break on normal excise rates convinced more customers to go hybrid back in 2018. Only a few days left till this hot sedan makes its way to the Philippine market.
