For those who haven’t renewed their vehicle’s registration yet, good news! The Land Transportation Office (LTO) just announced its validity extension of registration for motor vehicles.
This decision was motivated by the current situation brought about by the recent pandemic and community quarantine. The extension will allow vehicle owners to register later in light of the difficult times the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about, and as such, no penalties will need to be paid for this extra extension period.
The additional 30 days is now in effect for the following vehicles with plates ending in 6 or those scheduled in June for registration renewal in NCR, Laguna, Cebu, and Region III. The said extension is on top of the 60-day extension which LTO has already mandated last June 3, 2020. Therefore, all the following vehicles now have an extended deadline until September 3, 2020.
On the other hand, vehicles with an ending plate of 6 or rather those who were scheduled last June for their renewal of registrations located in all other areas aside from the ones mentioned above, validity is extended for 30 days from June 30, 2020. That said, there is no penalty to be collected from July 1 to July 31, 2020.
Moreover, other vehicles with an ending plate of 7, 8, 9, and 0 have also lengthened its registration validity for about 30 days in all LTO offices. Given that, plates ending in 7 can renew their registration until August 31, 2020, without penalty. On the other hand, those vehicles with an ending plate of 8 will be allowed to renew their registrations until September 30, 2020. Also, vehicles with plate numbers ending in 9 also have extended deadlines, as registration renewal is still allowed until October 31, 2020. Lastly, the plates with an ending digit of 0 can renew their registration until November 30, 2020.
