Mahindra revealed the KUV100, which is the newest (and smallest) member of their current array of utility vehicles. The Indian car manufacturer announced the arrival of this tiny crossover before 2015 ended, along with a new engine line that will be found under its hood.
The KUV100, which stands for “Kool Utility Vehicle” 100 (pronounced as 1-Oh-Oh), is even smaller than the current players of the subcompact crossover segment such as the Ford EcoSport, Chevrolet Trax, and Nissan Juke.
Although the overall dimensions aren't available yet, the engine that the KUV100 carries will pretty much tell you its size. It will be powered by the all-new 1.2L mFALCON engine that will be available in both gasoline and diesel variants.
Based on the pictures, it looks like the KUV100 will be Mahindra’s departure from their current boxy design. It’s cute and has subtle character lines on its side that resonate a fierce attitude that contradicts its size.
We also like the fact that the door handles are hidden in the C-pillar which gives the KUV100 a sporty appeal. We just hope that they do something about those tiny wheels.
One more thing we’re excited about is its color variants. Aside from the usual black, white, silver, and gray, the KUV100 will also be available in juicy colors such as Fiery Orange, Flamboyant Red, and Aquamarine.
The KUV100 is set to be launched on January 15, 2016 in India. However, there hasn't been any report from Mahindra Philippines if this cute crossover will join the Enforcer and the Xylo on their current local line-up. If that happens, this will surely shake the market in a refreshingly “kool” way.
