After launching the Maxus G50, the brand is then set to bring in another model, namely the D60 compact crossover. Just recently, the vehicle has undergone the China New Car Assessment Program crash safety test (C-NCAP), and gladly it surpassed even the most stringent safety standards.
Going over the scores, this compact crossover did garner such satisfying marks per category. Specifically, 91.61% in Occupancy Protection, 72.69% in Pedestrian Protection, and 92.71% in Active Safety. The following points are indeed enough for that 5-star safety rating, with it receiving a total of 88.9% out of 100.
It is worth noting that the specific unit used for this testing comes with 6 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, and also Autonomous Emergency Braking. However, Maxus Philippines has yet to confirm if the upcoming D60 variants will have the following safety equipment as well.
Going further with its safety aspect, the Maxus D60 is better than expected, in fact, it surpasses the dimension of a compact crossover. Numerically speaking, the length extends by about 4,720mm which is quite longer than the usual, as it reaches the midsize territory already. That said, this latest entry from Maxus should serve as an exceptional competitor given its extensive length.
No official details with regards to its powertrain just yet, however, there’s a chance that the Philippine market will either receive a 1.3-liter engine that puts out 161 hp and 230 Nm of torque, or a 1.5-liter turbo that makes 169 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Moreover, An all-wheel-drive option might also become available for our market.
We’re going to have to wait for further information with regard to this model, as pricing and launch date have not been disclosed just yet. So do stay tuned for some exciting updates on this upcoming compact crossover from Maxus.
