Back in June of 2020 Maxus Philippines, the Ayala-owned importer, and distributor of British bred commercial vehicles announced that it would be adding another vehicle to its growing selection. The new vehicle in question is an 8-seater MPV dubbed the Maxus G50. Unlike its siblings the Maxus G10 and the Maxus G50, this new vehicle will come with a turbocharged gasoline engine instead of a diesel motor.
With a launch date set for August 25, 2020, Maxus Philippines is happy to announce that the vehicle is already in the Philippines. The brand states that it will be available with 7 unique colors - Roland Purple, Polar Ash, Deep Golden, Warm White Warm Argent, Metal Black, and Water Blue. Maxus has also confirmed the seating layout of the all-new MPV. it will now come in a 2-3-3 configuration and will be able to seat 6 passengers with social distancing guidelines being considered. However, at maximum seating capacity, the Maxus G50 will be able to seat 8 adults comfortably.
The Maxus G50 has also been confirmed to come with three variants, all three being powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline motor which is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The MPV will also come with safety and convenience features that are set to make the vehicle competitive for its price point. As standard, the G50 will come with an electronic stability program, electronic parking brake, auto hold, reverse camera with park distance control, keyless entry, and a push to start function. It will also come with a 12.3-inch infotainment system making it an attractive feature to have for those looking for a vehicle for their budding family. All models will also include the standard 5-year service warranty.
With that being said all that’s now left to know about is its pricing. Our estimates put the top of the line model to cost at around P1.2 million which would make it very competitive against the other offerings in the market.
