Maxus Philippines just released a teaser photo of the upcoming D60 which showcases its interior, particularly the dashboard. This, therefore, brings us closer to its Philippine launch, which still has no official date up until now.
The teaser image attached above has been released throughout the brand’s official social media accounts, in fact, other teaser materials were previously uploaded as well, specifically around late December last year and early January. This somewhat gives us the assumption that the Maxus D60 might be coming this first quarter of 2021.
Technically, this offering from Maxus is categorized as a compact crossover, though its dimensions are surprisingly larger than of its class. Notably, the length extends by about 4,720mm, which is actually the same size as a first-generation Toyota Fortuner, making it an exceptional entry in its respective segment.
Likewise, its dimensions should translate to a spacious cabin. Apart from that, it will also be able to accommodate an extra third-row seating just like the D60 specced-out in other countries, therefore, building up the 7-seat options in its segment.
Based on the teaser photo shown above, the upcoming crossover will also get some essential features like the touchscreen infotainment system, digital gauges, automatic climate control with touch capacitive buttons, if our assumptions are correct based on the photos.
Since its powerplant has not been confirmed just yet, it could either get a 1.3-liter engine that puts out 161 hp and 230 Nm of torque, or a 1.5-liter turbo that makes 169 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Two of the motors were made available in other markets, and the D60 can either be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Lastly, an all-wheel-drive option might also be open to our market, but that remains to be seen.
Well, that’s about it for now. We’re still going to have to wait for further details surrounding its launch and other important specifications of this compact crossover. Stay tuned for more updates.
