Mazda Philippines officially unveils its Mazda 3 Sportback edition100. While some may think that the vehicle is here to celebrate the brand’s 100th year anniversary its actually on sale for a different reason. The special edition of the vehicle was put into the market in order to celebrate the Mazda3 being crowned as the world’s best-designed car for 2020 at the World Car Awards.
Exterior
The Mazda 3 edition100 comes with the same bumpers, side skirts, and rear bumper design found in the local top of the line variant the Mazda 3 Speed. However, the front lip, side skirt, and the rear bumper have all been color-matched depending on the vehicle’s color. Speaking of color the special edition Sportback can be had in Snowflake White Pearl and Jet Black these color options will be accented with Soul Red Crystal for the body kit. Soul Red Crystal units on the other hand will be receiving gloss black as their accent color for their body kit.
Completing the limited edition look the Mazda3 Sportback edition100 comes with high glass midnight black 18-inch wheels and red brake calipers. These act as a nod to the Mazda3’s sportier nature. To keep with the aesthetic theme the license plate holder has also been moved giving way for the beauty and elegance of the vehicle to shine through.
Interior
On the inside the Mazda3 Sportback edition100’s layout remains familiar, however, it now comes with distinct premium red leather seats as well as interior rims. It also now comes with a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a heads-up display, power adjustable driver’s seat, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 8.8-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system just to name a few.
Safety
In terms of keeping the driver and passengers safe, the limited edition Mazda3 comes with the brand’s i-Activsense driver-assist system. This gives the vehicle radar-guided adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, front and rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot warning, adaptive LED headlights, and driver attention monitoring. On top of these features, it also comes with a 360-degree camera system, electronic stability control, and of course a suite of airbags.
Power
Similar to that of the normal Mazda3 the edition100 comes powered by a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline engine which produces 154hp and 200 Nm of torque. Transmission options remain the same only being available with a 6-speed automatic.
Pricing for the Mazda3 Sportback edition100 starts at P1,610,000 which puts it P20,000 above the range-topping Speed variant which is priced at P1,590,000. If you’re looking for a uniquely styled Sportback that comes with a sultry design and great handling then look no further than the edition100 of the Mazda3.
