MG Motor Philippines has brought the 2025 MG HS to the 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), giving everyone a first look at their latest SUV. The launch of the new MG HS is part of MG's ongoing celebration of its 100th anniversary, and the carmaker is showing off the improvements it has made in both design and features.
The new MG HS, which was launched globally a few months ago, comes with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engine. It has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 142 PS, paired with a 209 PS electric motor. Together, they are powered by a 24.7 kWh battery pack, and the power goes to the front wheels using a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), which allows the HS PHEV to run on electric power alone for up to 100 km, with a total range of up to 1,065 km, making it suitable for long drives and city commutes.
On the outside, the 2025 HS looks sportier and more modern. MG has updated the design with a bold front grille, slimmer LED headlights, and a longer wheelbase, which makes the SUV more spacious inside. At the back, it has a full-width LED light bar and X-shaped taillights. The new model measures 4,655mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,664mm in height, with a 2,765mm wheelbase that gives it more room inside for passengers and cargo.
Inside the MG HS, you'll see the dashboard which has two 12.3-inch high-definition screens, one for the instrument cluster and the other for the touchscreen infotainment system. It also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad for your phone. For better visibility while driving, the HS is equipped with a 360-degree camera.
Other features inside include power-adjustable front seats, an 8-speaker sound system, full leather seats with stitching details, and both front and rear armrests. For added safety, there are several driver-assist features, and the PHEV model even has a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system that lets you use the car's battery to power external devices.
Don’t miss the chance to check out the 2025 MG HS at the 9th Philippine International Motor Show, running from October 24 to 27 at the World Trade Center in Manila.
