Following the launch of the TRQ L, its first-ever pickup truck for the market, MG Motor Philippines has another surprise for us in the form of the all-new HS Hybrid+. Officially launched today, the HS Hybrid+ makes its return to the Philippines market, now featuring an all-new look, an array of new features, and perhaps most importantly, a new hybrid powertrain.
The new HS Hybrid+ replaces the rounded look of its predecessor with a sharper, more aggressive design. The front fascia takes cues from more recent MG models like the MG One and MG3 hatchback. A large honeycomb grille takes center stage, flanked at the sides by a piece of black trim that houses the fog lights, giving the new HS a sleek look. Underneath, a black plastic lip caps off the front end for a sportier edge.
At the rear, the back end is defined by a sleek full-width LED light bar, seamlessly connecting slim, high-tech taillights that give the crossover a futuristic signature at night.
A sculpted, aerodynamic tailgate flows cleanly into an extended roof spoiler, while the Hybrid+ badge proudly signals the model’s new-generation hybrid powertrain. Below, a two-tone rear bumper with metallic detailing and integrated sport-style exhaust accents adds a confident, performance-inspired finish.
Powering the MG HS Hybrid+ is an advanced hybrid powertrain. Under the hood sits a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, paired with a high-output electric motor. Together, they channel power to the front wheels through a three-speed hybrid transmission. The petrol engine produces 141 hp and 230 Nm, while the electric motor contributes an additional 144 hp and 340 Nm, delivering a smooth yet energetic drive. Bringing that power to a confident stop are vented front discs and solid rear discs, ensuring dependable braking performance.
Safety is a highlight, with standard systems like an electronic stability program, ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution, vehicle dynamic control, Hill-Start/Descent Assist, airbags, ISOFIX anchors, parking sensors, and an anti-theft system, among many others. MG Pilot adds advanced driver assistance, including Adaptive Cruise, Lane Keeping, Blind Spot Monitoring, Emergency Braking, and more. These features, plus a five-star 2024 Euro NCAP rating, place it among the safest in its class.
Inside, the HS Hybrid+ elevates the cabin experience with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker audio system, four USB ports, a wireless charging pad, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Premium comfort continues with a six-way power driver’s seat, a four-way power front passenger seat, smart keyless entry, and push-button start. The upscale feel is further enhanced by a panoramic sunroof, rear privacy glass, and leather upholstery.
The MG HS Hybrid+ is available in a single variant, priced at P1,XXX,XXX. For more details and an easy way to purchase, visit the MG HS Hybrid+ page on AutoDeal.com.ph.
