MG has done very well in many parts of the world where, in the past, the MG brand was not a household name. Places like Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia have embraced MG for their high quality and ability to satisfy various needs and lifestyles. Given this, and recognizing that The Philippines is one of the most important and fastest growing automotive markets in the world, we feel that the time is just right for MG to make a big splash in the Philippine auto scene. We see that the qualities of today’s MG cars strongly appeal to Filipino buyers, and that is why we are showcasing these modern, attainable, British heritage vehicles at an event such as the MIAS where the Filipino car-buying public can have a hands-on experience with them.
Looking at the MG booth in MIAS 2019, and three of the brand’s latest models are showcased. The MG ZS crossover, the MG RX5 compact SUV, and the MG 6 fastback sedan. With the MG 6 taking center stage as MG proceeds with the event, the brand takes the opportunity to publicly announce the launch of its compact car. With sport and luxury as headlining features, the 6 aims to please without breaking the bank. A 1.5L turbocharged engine that produces 164hp and 250 Nm of torque will leave drivers excited for the car’s encore, its interior. A spacious cabin padded with soft touch materials surround the driver, as well as seats that offer lumbar support. An 8-inch infotainment system that is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ready makes connecting one’s phone a breeze. A suite of safety and driver assist features are included such as Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Traction Control (TCS), and other systems.
Starting at P1,068,888 for the Alpha variant, and P1,188,888 for the top of the line trophy variant, the MG 6 presents itself as an affordable alternative to Filipino car buyers, offering luxury and performance at a price point that would rival and stand shoulder to shoulder with other brands.
