Ford Motor Company has announced that Micheal “Mike” Breen will now be the new Managing Director of Ford Philippines. Breen will take his position on June 1, 2021, and will replace PK “Uma” Umashankar as he has been assigned a new role as the director of Ford Customer Service Division, International Markets Group. As Umashankar's successor, Breen brings with him a wealth of experience as he is the current managing director of the Ford Asia Pacific Direct Markets. Breen will also relocate to Manila and will directly report to Yukotorn ‘Vickie’ Wisadkosin, the president of Ford ASEAN.
As part of his new role as the Blue Oval’s managing director in the Philippines, he will continue the momentum of the brand in the country along sustaining the success of its model lineup locally. On top of this Breen will also help further enhance the ownership as well as the aftersales experience of customers in the country.
Mike brings with him a wealth of experience gained from close to three decades of working in Ford markets all over the world. As APDM country lead complemented by his extensive expertise in dealer relations, marketing, and sales operations, I am confident that Mike’s leadership in the Philippines, together with our dealer partners, will help us improve customer experience to further grow the Ford brand in the market.
In his current role as the Managing Director of Ford Asia Pacific Direct Markets, Breen leads a time that supports distributors across 25 countries that work around various product requirements and customer engagement initiatives. Under his leadership, he was able to grow Ford’s presence in these markets by introducing new and innovative products. This in turn led to a 15 percent increase in volume and a 5.6 percent increase in market share in these respective areas.
With Michael Breen as the new head of Ford Philippines, expect to see new and innovative things to come from the automaker in the coming months as the Blue Oval turns over a new chapter in the country.
