MINI revealed its biggest model yet, the 2017 Countryman, which now has improved spacious interior and vaster cargo storage than the outgoing model.
The new Countryman has been entirely redesigned and remodeled from ground up. But thanks to the signature details like the semi-teardrop headlights and mesh grille, the car can still be highly recognized as a MINI.
The car, being dubbed as the biggest MINI yet, has increased by 30% in interior space. With sliding and folding rear seats, an adjustable trunk floor, and a high roofline, the all-new Countryman now has enlarged space in the leg-, head-, and rear shoulder-room compared to any of its major class competitor.
The Countryman is now packed with turbocharged engine lineup, complete with outstanding acceleration and go-kart driving dynamics, which are achieved through the integration of the BMW engine technology and architecture.
Not only is it big, the Countryman is said to be the most technologically advanced and versatile of all MINI product line up. The car showcases a 3-cylinder 1.5L BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 221 hp.
Some of the standard features that come with the all-new Countryman include are the Panoramic Sunroof, Sensatec Leatherette Upholstery, Comfort Access keyless entry, MINI Connected 6.5-inch HD display infotainment system, rear view camera with guidelines, Rear Park Distance Control, Bluetooth supporting telephone, Audio Streaming, Siri Eyes Free, and Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers.
In addition to these features comes an entirely new generation of technology which the driver and it’s passenger can use for a better overall experience. The optional Technology Package comes with 8.8-inch touchscreen navigation system run by the new-generation operating system ‘MINI Connected 5.0’, as well as Qi wireless device charging capability, and MINI Find Mate Bluetooth tags.
The new MINI Countryman will hit the US market in March 2017, while the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 plug-in hybrid in June 2017. However, MINI PH has yet to announce whether both models will be available in local dealerships.
