It looks like Mitsubishi has one more model it wants to reveal before the end of the year as the Japanese automaker has released a teaser for an upcoming car. While details on it are still scarce, it is rumored that this “new concept car” will utilize the platform of the Mitsubishi Xpander and will be categorized as a “small SUV.’ What is evident, however, is that the new concept vehicle will come with the brand’s dynamic shield design language.
While the term SUV can be used loosely, we suspect that the actual vehicle might be a B-segment crossover. With the crossover segment steadily growing in the past few years, it looks like the Japanese automaker wants a piece of the market segment with its concept vehicle. If the rumors are true the B-segment crossover concept could be set to fight the likes of the Nissan Kicks, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Creta, and various other Chinese entries into the market.

Aside from this other reports also suggest that this concept vehicle will be sharing a lot of components with the Xpander MPV and not just its chassis. This means that we could see a familiar interior and other similar parts being showcased soon. It could also share the same 1.5-liter gasoline motor as well but it is still up in the air as to what Mitsubishi will put as its official powerplant.
While the global reveal for the vehicle is set for October 19, 2022, it will also be displayed at the 2022 Vietnam Motor Show which will happen from October 26 to 30, 2022. This will give us a better chance to look at the vehicle in person and infer what possible specifications it might have when it officially becomes a production vehicle. For now, it's just a waiting game to see what will happen next.
