Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) formally introduces the Xpander Cross into the Philippine market. The new vehicle takes over where the Xpander GLS Sport was and is now the new top-of-the-line variant for the MPV. Pricing for the new vehicle starts at P1,255,000.
The Xpander Cross is a family-friendly 7-seat MPV that comes with an SUV-like style. The vehicle is comfortable and easy to drive, as well as spacious, and features practical yet versatile interior design.
When the Xpander MPV was first launched in the country back in 2018, it immediately gained a strong following in the automotive market and was able to sell 13,494 units during its first year on sale. It now has a total of 36,168 units sold during the time of launch until now. Currently, the Japanese MPV is the best one of the best-selling vehicles in its category in the country. The model is so popular that it contributes to 30% of MPPC’s total sales in the country. Thanks to its stellar sales figures the vehicle has gotten multiple awards by proving that the Xpander is a good value for money MPV.
The XPANDER is a very important nameplate to MMPC as it fits many of the vehicle requirements of Filipinos. It provides the reliable performance, spacious and comfortable interior, host of safety features and a very bold design. Now with the entry of the XPANDER CROSS, its added features, we see renewed potential to the already successful Xpander nameplate.
The Xpander Cross like its MPV brother shares the same 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 103hp and 141 Nm of torque. Like the GLS Sport variant that it is replacing, the lifted MPV will only be available with a 4-Speed automatic transmission. Separating it from the rest of the lineup is a raised ground clearance coming in at 225mm and body cladding that give the MPV SUV-like looks. In addition to those features it also comes with a protective lower bumper with a skid plate, LED headlights and fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, wheel arch moldings, side body garnishes, and roof rails. The Xpander Cross is available in three colors: White Pearl, Sterling Silver Metallic, and Graphite Grey Metallic.
