Mitsubishi Motors Philippines welcomes a new addition to the Triton lineup with the Triton GX 2WD AT. Priced at P1,430,000, the GX AT is the most affordable automatic variant of the Triton. It offers a practical option for those who want a dependable workhorse without the hassle of a manual transmission.
The GX AT is the next level up from the manual GL and adds a few more features, although it does not have all the equipment found in the GLX 2WD AT, which is priced at P1,735,000. Key features include an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a reverse camera. To differentiate it from the higher-spec GLX, the Triton GX AT comes with simpler gauges, a smaller multi-info display, and fewer buttons on the steering wheel. It does not have cruise control, but still includes audio and Bluetooth controls. In addition, the GX AT is also fitted with an updated grille featuring a new Dynamic Shield grille design. Whereas its predecessors have a horizontal orientation to the slats, the GX AT has a simpler triangular pattern. This variant sits on silver alloy wheels, though we’ve yet to know the specific size.
Inside, the GX AT is practical and straightforward. It comes with manual air-conditioning instead of climate control. The seats are finished in black fabric, and the cabin has fewer chrome accents, keeping the interior simple and functional.
Mitsubishi offers the Triton GX in several color options. These include Blade Silver Metallic, White Diamond, Graphite Gray Metallic, Jet Black Mica, and Red Solid, giving buyers a choice of subtle or more vibrant shades.
Powering the Triton GX 2WD AT is the 4N16 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-four diesel engine. It produces 181 hp and 430 Nm of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission with manual select.
