Mitsubishi Philippines has recently released a teaser video and images of the upcoming refreshed Mirage G4. While the refreshed model originally made its first appearance in Thailand, it’s now set to make its local debut on August 28, 2021. With that said here is what you can expect to see from the new model based on the teasers released by the automaker.
Based on photos and the video released by the Japanese manufacturer, we can expect to see a Mirage that now inherits the brand’s Dynamic Shield design language. This in turn gives the sedan a more sporty look compared to before With that in mind, we can also expect to see sleeker-looking headlights, a new front bumper, a new grille design, and a tweaked bumper. The teaser images also reveal that the vehicle will also come with a new set of wheels that pair well with the new design.
On the inside, the teaser photos show a familiar layout which includes the vehicle’s instrument cluster, steering wheel, door panels, and air vents. However, we suspect that the new model will receive an upgrade to the infotainment system possibly giving it Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. We could also see an updated climate control system with controls also to be found on the steering wheel.
What is under the hood, still remains a mystery as Mitsubishi Philippines has yet to release any information about the refreshed model’s powerplant options. However, we could see the same 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated motor make its appearance again with this model. This means that the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 will likely still have 77 hp and 100 Nm of torque available. The current transmission options for the vehicle could also likely be carried over as well, in the form of a CVT and a 5-speed manual transmission.
With August 28, 2021, set as its official launch date it is only a matter of time until we see the refreshed 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 out in the market.
