Back in November of 2021, the Ralliart brand was relaunched in Thailand after several years of being discontinued in the market. While it originally served as the brand’s tuning division it has been revived to give the Japanese automaker’s current lineup of vehicles a sportier appearance.
The brand already has a reputation in Thailand for its sticker packs and extra accessories that help give the likes of the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Mitsubishi Strada, and the Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback a sportier and more rally-inspired look. While it may no longer be focused on performance parts, fans of the brand will be happy that it is making a comeback, especially for those in the Philippine market.
For the Philippine market, we can expect to see the same treatment being done to its Thai counterparts. While Mitsubishi Philippine did outright say that they would be bringing back the Ralliart brand directly, they did release a teaser video on its Facebook page showcasing the brand’s motorsport heritage. Mitsubishi even showed the Ralliart’s signature red and orange colorway, while offering a glimpse of the dressed-up versions of both the Strada and the Montero Sport that will be revealed at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
If reports hold true then we might see Ralliart versions of the Montero Sport and Strada at the auto show. These vehicles will come with red bumper garnishes, a black roof, a black tailgate spoiler, black wheels, red mudflaps, as well as the signature Ralliart decal on the rear quarter and doors. Other details about these Ralliart vehicles are still unknown but we expect them to look similar to what is available in Thailand.
For now, all we can do is sit and wait for the date for PIMS to arrive to confirm if these Ralliart models will be available and to see how much these added accessories will affect the pricing of the Strada, Montero Sport, and perhaps the Mirage Hatchback.
