Mitsubishi Philippines has quietly updated its popular 7-seater diesel SUV to come with new features. A quick look at the Japanese brand’s official website and the brochure of the Mitsubishi Montero Sport reveals that the automaker has added a new Multi-around-view monitor to the SUV and other features to specific models in its lineup.
Notably, for 2021, all variants of the Montero Sport from the GLS AT model upwards now come with a 360-degree multi-around-view camera along with Mitsubishi’s Active Stability and Traction Control System (M-ASTC) as standard. The feature also incorporates not just traction control but also hill start assist and hill descent control as well. Another layer of safety for Montero Sport owners and new features to make it easier to drive.
Other additions to the 2021 models also include 8-way power-adjustability for the GLS AT variant for both the driver and front passenger as well as the addition of cruise control to make the vehicle easier to drive on highway stints or long-distance trips. Just like before, the vehicle still comes with the same standard safety features, aside from the new addition of the camera, and it still has ISO-FIX tethers, a much-welcomed standard safety feature especially for those looking for a tall vehicle that can easily accommodate a child seat.
Even with these new features, Mitsubishi Philippines has not yet released any official statement with regard to whether the new additions will merit an increase in price for the Montero Sport. As of publishing this article, the prices have remained the same despite the inclusion of the new technology in the vehicle. We will update you more if the Japanese brand releases any more information about other new upgrades or price increases for the model.
