Mitsubishi does not want to miss out on the ASEAN region's very lucrative crossover/SUV segment. With that in mind, the Japanese automaker has unveiled a new concept car that is ready to take on that segment utilizing parts from its popular MPV the Mitsubishi Xpander. The automaker states that once it officially enters production and launches it will provide ASEAN customers with a vehicle that provides ample comfort and cargo space while also offering secure road handling on rough or flooded roads.
While still a concept vehicle its production version is set to launch sometime in the next fiscal year somewhere between April 2023 to March 2024. It features the brand’s latest “Robust & Ingenious” design concept giving the vehicle a powerful yet sleek look thanks to its good use of curves and lines. It also comes with a new three-diamond emblem at the front and what appears to be a new rendition of the dynamic shield design language at the front. The concept also comes with L-shaped headlights with louver-like DRLs that form a T-Shape, similar to what you could find on the Mitsubishi Xpander. At the back, the concept comes with T-shaped taillights giving it a wider stance.
On the inside, the XFC concept comes with a clean and minimalistic interior with two big screens dominating the dashboard. It also comes with a triangular accent in the middle which houses its gear shifter.
From the looks of the new concept alone, we can infer that the finished product will likely be a great-looking vehicle that will complement the brand’s other cars in the ASEAN region such as the Montero Sport, Strada, Mirage, and the Xpander. For now, we can only wait and see what Mitsubishi will do next as its planned production version is set to make its official debut one to two years from now.
