MMDA to host Road Safety Forum to address increasing road deaths in PH

The number of road-related deaths in the Philippines keeps growing on an annual basis. In an effort to stop this, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will conduct a Road Safety Forum on May 23, 2016.

The whole day activity will feature several resource persons both from local government traffic enforcement agencies and private motoring institutions such as the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP).

The forum will it start around 8:30 am at the MMDA Auditorium in Makati City where Chairman Emerson Carlos will give an inspirational talk to open the day’s festivities.

This will be followed by Director Francis Almora of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will talk about the “Issues and Challenges of Law Enforcement in Promoting Road Safety.” Meanwhile, Augusto Lagman of the AAP will discuss “Private Sector Assessment of the State of Road Safety.” Lastly, Prulife UK’s Assistant Vice President for Brand and Communication Gizelle Camua will give a lecture about “Safe Steps: A Road Safety Advocacy.”

Aside from these talks, there will also be other activities at the Road Safety Forum such a road safety products exhibit and a film showing on road safety. To spice things up, those who answer trivia questions correctly will win prizes from the MMDA-Institute of Traffic Management (ITM).
