With the implementation of the Capital Market Efficiency Promotion Act, also known as CMEPA, pickup trucks not used for livelihood purposes will no longer be eligible for tax exemption. This act brings back the excise tax on pickups, meaning you’ll see higher price tags on these vehicles.
A certain car brand has made an announcement that may bring some comfort. Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) says it's keeping the prices of the Navara the same across all variants for July 2025. However, these prices will only stick around as long as the stocks last at dealerships, so if you want to get a Navara before the price hike, you'd better act fast.
To check out the latest models, including the Navara, Nissan is inviting everyone to swing by the Nissan Intelligent Mobility Tour at Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna from July 18 to 20, 2025.
“We’re excited to bring the Nissan Intelligent Mobility Tour to more Filipinos, giving them the chance to experience our cars firsthand and explore flexible ownership options in a fun, interactive setting.”
To refresh your memory on what the Navar is all about, here are the highlights. The Navara rides on a tough, full-length, fully-boxed ladder frame that gives it extra stiffness and durability, while its rigid five-link rear suspension helps keep things smooth and comfy for everyone on board. Under the hood, the Navara packs a 2.5-liter 16-valve turbo-diesel engine. The base model pushes out 161 hp and 403 Nm of torque, while the top-spec versions boost that to 187 hp and 450 Nm. You can choose between a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic, and pick either a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain, depending on how rugged you want to go.
So, if you’re eyeing a Navara or just want to see it before the price goes up, now’s the time! Head over to your nearest Nissan dealership or drop by the Nissan Intelligent Mobility Tour in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, this weekend.
